Each student may create three extra credit drawings per each nine weeks. Each drawing is awarded points based upon five area. Each area is worth up to five points, for a total of up to 25 points per drawing. These are the five areas:
PET PEEVES
What's a pet peeve? It's something that Ms. Perkins is so very tired of seeing in art work....and will likely cause a decrease in points.
- RECOGNIZABLE IMAGE Can I easily tell what it is. Is there a main object.?
- DETAILS Most items have specific things that help to distinguish it from another item.
- BACKGROUND What is behind the main image that would help to complete the scene?
- 85% Have you filled your space by shading or coloring 85% of the paper's surface.
- NEATNESS Have you cleaned up your edges? ....erased stray marks?...colored or shaded neatly? Did you take your time?

- NOTEBOOK PAPER- Please draw on UNLINED paper! I have free manila paper for you to use. Copy paper or a sketch pad is also great.
- CORNER SUN - When was the last time you looked up in the sky and only saw one quarter of the sun stuck in the corner??? You won't!
- COLORING BOOK OUTLINES - The only thing that should be outlined in black, is the one that is actually outlined in black in real life.
